FUNCTION OF A CATCH BASIN
Water (rain, lawn watering, car washing, etc) is collected and directed away from areas like roadways, sidewalks, buildings, etc. and towards our City storm system
Sediment, leaves, etc (that make their way past the grate) settle to the bottom of the basin and stay out of the way of the outlet pipe, so it can continue to due its job (this is what needs to be cleaned regularly to keep the CB functioning)
